ENG8 Moves Toward the Factory Floor
New industrial work in Portugal could become the EnergiCell’s most important test yet
For decades, Low Energy Nuclear Reactions and Condensed Matter Nuclear Science have remained largely confined to laboratories.
ENG8 International is now preparing to confront the question that has followed this field for years:
Can the technology leave the laboratory and operate reliably in the real world?
The company says it is advancing its EnergiCell technology toward industrial prototyping, including planned work involving high-temperature ceramics production and other industrial energy systems in Portugal.
ENG8 describes this as a move from Technology Readiness Level 4 toward TRL 7.
Technology Readiness Levels are a nine-step scale used to measure how close a technology is to real-world use. TRL 4 is still largely laboratory-based. TRL 7 means testing a working prototype in an actual operating environment.
The direction is clear. ENG8 is trying to move from demonstrating a reaction to producing useful energy under industrial conditions.
Taking the EnergiCell into Portuguese industry
ENG8 recently announced plans to work with a major Portuguese ceramics factory, although the factory has not yet been publicly named.
Ceramics manufacturing is a demanding environment. A ceramics kiln is a large industrial furnace used to harden tiles and other ceramic products. These furnaces operate at extremely high temperatures, often around the clock, and usually rely on natural gas.
ENG8 plans to use modular EnergiCell systems to provide high-temperature air, heat, and steam to existing factory operations. The company has discussed developing generators in the 100-kilowatt range that could eventually be combined into larger systems.
If successful, the technology could reduce the factory’s reliance on natural gas without requiring a complete rebuilding of its production line.
Winning the PRIO pilot
ENG8 has also won a place in PRIO’s Jump Start 2026 accelerator program in Aveiro, Portugal.
Ten companies competed for the ten-week program, with ENG8 selected as one of the winning teams. According to ENG8, the award includes a funded industrial pilot that will place the EnergiCell at a PRIO operating site in a real production environment.
That is an important step.
PRIO is one of Portugal’s leading energy companies and the country’s largest producer of biofuels. It operates a biodiesel production plant and fuel-storage facilities at the Port of Aveiro, along with a nationwide network of more than 250 fuel stations and electric-vehicle charging services.
The potential first application involves replacing natural gas used to produce heat for an eight-megawatt boiler at PRIO’s biodiesel plant. Other possible applications across PRIO’s operations are still being assessed.
Winning the program against other established technology companies gives ENG8 something far more valuable than another presentation or laboratory demonstration. It provides access to a serious industrial operator and a funded opportunity to prove the technology under working conditions.
The latest validation
ENG8 has also reported continued progress in the laboratory.
During testing conducted by physicist Jean-Paul Biberian in October 2025, an updated EnergiCell reportedly continued operating after its external starting power was removed.
ENG8 described extended self-sustaining electrical oscillations under controlled conditions. Biberian concluded that the principle of operation had been demonstrated, while also noting that further engineering work was still needed.
The next challenge is turning that laboratory result into a dependable industrial energy system.

New Fire Energy is preparing to travel to Portugal for the third time to visit ENG8’s laboratory and the industrial sites connected to its latest work.
We plan to examine the newest improvements in the EnergiCell, review the progress being made in its catalyzed-fusion process, and better understand how close the technology may be to commercial operation.
We intend to see the latest systems, speak with the team developing the technology, and learn what has changed since the earlier demonstrations and validations.
ENG8 now has the opportunity to move beyond controlled laboratory testing and place the EnergiCell inside real industrial operations.
For a technology with the potential to change how the world produces energy, that is a development worth investigating firsthand.
